Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (MAPS):
- Government Resolution of Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department No.ITI-2020 / Pra.No. 127 / Vyashi-3, dt.03.06.2021, it has been approved to implement "Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (MAPS)" in government, semi-government and private establishments to increase and encourage recruitment of apprentices under apprenticeship training scheme.
- Under Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme 75 per cent of the stipend payable to the apprentices or maximum of Rs.5,000/- per month, which is less will be allowed to the apprentices by Government of Maharashtra.
- This benefit will not be acceptable to the apprentices during the basic training period of the apprentice.
- Institutions providing basic training will not be reimbursed for training expenses by the Central Government.
- The Target of Maharashtra Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme is to train 1,00,000 apprentices every year.
- In the financial year 2022-2023 Grant Received Rs.36,25,02,900/- (Rupees Thirty Six Crores Twenty Five Lakhs Two Thousand Nine Hundred Only) for stipend of apprentice under MAPS scheme. Apprentices in the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 bill have been passed offline mode for stipend Rs.36,25,02,870/- (Rupees Thirty Six Crores Twenty Five Lakhs Two Thousand Eighty only)

My journey began with Trainee in Wireman Trade at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) CBD Belapur from August 2013 to July 2015 and subsequently completed apprenticeship training in October 2027, where I, Akshay Rohidas Khandagale, acquired specialized skills in the wireman trade. This comprehensive practical training not only honed my technical abilities but also opened the doors to immediate employment. After completing my apprenticeship Training, I established myself as the Proprietor of A AND ARK Electrical on January 28, 2021, handling various electrical maintenance tasks and achieving an impressive annual turnover of ₹38,04,224 and a net profit of ₹18,01,232. I am deeply grateful to the ITI CBD Belapur, Government of Maharashtra and Government of India for their pivotal role in facilitating the apprenticeship, which has significantly boosted my career prospects and professional growth. The structured training and support provided, have enabled me to employ a team of nine skilled workers and establish a successful business located at Ulwe Node, Taluka Panvel, Maharashtra. The apprenticeship training experience has been instrumental in shaping my career and empowering me to achieve my goals in the electrical sector industry. I call upon Maharashtra youth to become job giver and not job seeker.
